Chowmahallaat means four palaces (chow means 4 and mahallat means palaces.
Nizam Salabat Jung built the Chowmahalla palace.

Chowmahalla palace is in the vicinity of Khilwat. The historical Charminar and Makkah Masjid is walking distance from here.

The palace is unique for its style and elegance.   The palace consists of two courtyards as well as the grand Khilwat (the Dharbar Hall), fountains and gardens. 

Chowmahalla palace was the official residence of the Nizams of hyderabad.
On 15 March 2010 The UNESCO Asia Pacific Merit award for cultural heritage conservation was presented to Chowmahalla Palace.
In 1750 Salabat Jung initiated construction of chowmahalla palace.
Afzal Ad dawlah, Asif Jah V completed its construction between 1857 and 1869.

Under the patronage of Princess Esra The palace was restored between 2005 and 2010.

Southern Courtyard is the oldest part of the palace, and has four palaces Afzal Mahal, Mahtab Mahal, Tahniyat Mahal and Aftab Mahal. It was built in the neo-classical style.

And it has Northern courtyard, Khilwat Mubarak and Clock Tower called as Khilwat Clock ticking away for more than 250 years.
Chowmahalla palace is tha palace to visit to see the architecture of Asif Jah dynasty.
Many tourists visit daily Khilwat to see Chowmahalla palaces.
